ADVOCACY
Help (ADVOCACY) is there for you or your family if you need someone to support you
with the Needs Assessment.
You can have a friend or family member present with you if you want. You can also
get help (ADVOCACY) from the services below.
- Advocacy Services – See the brochure for the telephone number in your area, or free
phone 0800 377 766. This is a free service.
- Support Agencies – such as People First, Deaf Association, RNZFB, IHC Advocacy Service,
Head Injury Society or NZCCS may provide you with support if you are known to them.
- ResCare New Zealand – may provide advocacy if your child/ family member has an intellectual
disability.
These are some places that may be able to help you if you want their help. You may
know of others that you may also like to use.
You do not have to have anyone to support you with your Needs Assessment but if
you choose there will be help available.
